Dave Allan

Dave Allan is the founding director of NILE, the Norwich Institute for Language Education, based in Norwich in the UK, which over the last 15 years has provided training and professional development for over 15,000 language teachers and trainers from some 60 countries, including hundreds from South America, many of whom have followed our MA and other postgraduate programmes and gone on to develop their own careers as trainers. Some have themselves become internationally known conference speakers and six of them are now NILE trainers. Dave is also Academic Director for INTO University Partnerships, a Fellow of the University of East Anglia, Chair of MATSDA, a founding member and former Co-ordinator of the IATEFL TEASIG Committee and an author for OUP. Dave has been a regular visitor to South America since 1980 and has developed a real appreciation of the ‘Southern Cone’ and its teachers. He is delighted to be back in Brazil again in 2010.
